The School of Leaders (SOL) is a ”community of Christians who, united in the atmosphere of a Group Reunion, seek every day to become more centered, more committed and more united, so as to accelerate in themselves, in the Cursillo Movement and in their environments, the living out of what is fundamental for being a Christian”.
The SOL is the gathering of Cursillistas since they are natural leaders of Christianity. Cursillo leaders or potential Cursillo leaders are encouraged to attend. While participation in SOL doesn't necessarily result in a Cursillo leadership role, all Cursillistas are invited as they are leaders of Christianity.
The primary objective of the SOL is to provide leaders with their spiritual formation as well as instruction in the Cursillo Method so they can lead effectively and further the purpose of the Cursillo Movement.
The School inspires and strengthens the communities formed through Cursillos, then deepens the conversion of its leaders, identifies new leaders, and prepares future leaders of the Movement. These sessions result in transformed leaders who, in turn, form the Christian backbone of their environments and influence the people around them.
In the SOL, we act as a singular school of fish all swimming in the same direction. It is where a pool of leaders is willing and able to pick up the mantle of leadership and take on key roles within the Cursillo Movement.
What is a typical School of Leaders like?
SOLs are scheduled regularly to ensure that Christian leaders are provided an ongoing source of information and materials for spiritual, methodological, doctrinal and Cursillo leader formation. They are intended to be educational and developmental focused on Christian leadership growth.
A typical SOL agenda includes prayer, leader group reunion; doctrinal presentation (usually by a priest or vowed religious); technique presentation and a focus on a particular aspect of the Cursillo movement ( Precursillo, Cursillo or Postcursillo)
